KUWAIT CITY, May 2: The Civil Section in the Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the First Instance Court that had earlier obligated the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) to pay compensation of KD100,000 to a Bedoun for its refusal to update the latter’s data for 15 years under the pretext that security restrictions were imposed on him.Attorney Hani Husain, the Bedoun’s lawyer, pointed out in court that his 20-year-old client suffered injustice and lost his future due to the refusal of the CSRSIR to update his data. He said this step deprived his client of the right to education and medical services as he has no birth certificate. The lawyer affirmed his client received a court verdict in his favor and got a delivery notification. He said the compensation is not big enough considering the lost years and destruction of his client’s future.By Jaber Al-Hamoud, Meshal Al-Sanousi Al-Seyassah Staff and Agencies
