Court sets July 2 hearing in Russian expat’s murder – Luxury car vandalized

KUWAIT CITY, June 19: The Criminal Court has July 2, 2017, to look into the case of four Russians who are accused of murdering a compatriot and dumping his corpse on the shoulder of an expressway, reports Al-Anba daily. Without going into details the daily said the suspects were arrested before they left the country. It was earlier reported that the suspects were involved in an argument with the victim over bootlegging.

Death row commuted: The Court of Cassation overturned the Court of Appeal’s ruling on the death sentence of a police officer affiliated to Qadsiya Police Station for murdering his colleague, Saud Al-Husseini. The higher court commuted the sentence to life imprisonment. The Public Prosecution charged the police officer with premeditated murder on Sept 11, 2016 when he used the service weapon to kill his colleague in cold blood, after shooting him on the head with the intention of killing him.

Car vandalized: An unknown individual caused damages to a Kuwaiti woman’s luxury vehicle, which costs more than KD 10,000, in Rumaithiya area, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, the victim explained to securitymen that she was shocked when she stepped out of her house in Rumaithiya area to find damages to her vehicle particularly its glass. She affirmed that she does not know the identity of the suspect and did not suspect anyone. A case was registered and investigations are underway to find and arrest the unknown suspect. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti retiree reported that his vehicle, which was parked in front of his house in Khaitan area, was stolen by an unknown individual. He provided securitymen with the description of his vehicle. A case was filed for investigations.
