Court quashes verdict to close shop for 1 month

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: The Misdemeanor Court of Appeals canceled the verdict of First Instance Court that ordered closure of a sanitary ware shop for one month on charges of commercial cheating. The court presided over by Judge Rujaib Al-Juraib acquitted the owner of all charges. The case file indicates the plaintiff bought water pump from the shop owner and discovered it wasn’t usable. Defense Attorney Ayed Al-Rasheedi called attention to the fact that the pump is new and has warrantee, and the owner had offered to replace it with another one. qqq Open file for Bedoun kids: The Administrative Court chaired by Judge Emad Al-Habib ordered the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) to open a file to issue security cards for eight children of a Bedoun. According to the case file, the Plaintiff Attorney Jassem Al- Twaitan filed the case on behalf of the Bedoun before his demise. His client was born in Kuwait and worked as a Lance Corporal at the Ministry of Defense. He married a Kuwaiti woman and was blessed with children who all reside in Kuwait. He earned certificates from Kuwaiti schools, domiciled in the country, and registered as a family head in the census of 1985. However, CSRSIR refused to open a file by which he could carry out official transactions, being a Bedoun, although he deserved to be issued one.

Wanted man arrested: Ahmadi policemen arrested a citizen wanted by law on eight counts of offenses, including fraud and kidnapping a minor girl. The citizen was driving a car without number plate when he ignored police order to stop. They chased and arrested him. He was referred to the Criminal Investigations Department.

2 juveniles held for stealing: Officers from the Capital arrested two juveniles for stealing perfumes, cell phones and pre-paid phone cards from shops in Salhiya, reports Al-Anba daily. Patrolmen on duty spotted the two suspects running away on foot. They managed to take them in a chase and recovered the stolen items
