Court nullifies decision on disability – Kuwaiti perishes in accident

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: The Administrative Court has nullified the decision of Higher Council for Disability to convert a major disability to minor. Case files indicated the council issued a decision amending the degree of disability of a citizen from being major to minor without necessarily verifying the real condition of the person involved. For this reason, Lawyer Jarrah Al-Enezi representing the citizen countered the decision before the law court, urging the presiding judge to set aside the aforementioned resolution, which he considered detrimental to the interests of his client. He noted the decision defied the reality on ground and contradicts a previous diagnosis by the same authority.

Kuwaiti killed: A Kuwaiti who is believed to be in his 20s died on the spot in a road accident on the King Fahd Expressway, reports Al-Anba daily. Two other men who were seriously injured were rushed to the intensive care unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital. The cause of the accident is not known. On the other hand, an American woman sustained slight injuries after she was run over by an unidentified motorist. The mishap happened when she was standing in front of a school in Mangaf. The Kuwaiti motorist has been referred to the area Police Station.

Colleague kicks dentist: An Indian dentist, who works at a private dental clinic, lodged a complaint against her male colleague who kicked her in her foot, reports Al-Anba daily. She submitted a medical report and lodged the complaint, despite attempts by her colleagues to solve the problem amicably. The male dentist will be summoned for questioning.

Car thieves nabbed: Two youths, a Bedoun and a Syrian were arrested for stealing from vehicles. According to security sources, when the security authorities received information about thefts from vehicles, a team of Jahra securitymen conducted investigations and identified the two thieves. After they were arrested, they confessed to carrying out several thefts in the governorate and selling the stolen items to a shop in Naeem Scrapyard for half the actual price. Necessary action was taken against them. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a case at Sabah Al-Salem Police Station against his neighbor, accusing him of stealing the wheels of his vehicle which was parked close to his house.
