KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: The Commercial Section in the Court of Appeals obligated Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC) to pay KD 4,150 compensation to a Kuwaiti woman.

The compensation amount is equal to the value of right unit according to the definition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as per the value on the day of the issuance of the court decision based on information released by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) and relevant official bodies informing the court that the flight to Sarajevo was cancelled. Attorney Ali Al-Ali filed the lawsuit on behalf of the citizen where he pointed out that his client booked a two-way plane ticket via Kuwait Airways (Kuwait-Sarajevo-Kuwait). He added the corporation informed the plaintiff that the flight was delayed for four hours.

He said that after four hours, the passengers including the plaintiff were taken to an aircraft where they waited for another four hours before they were informed that the flight was cancelled. Al-Ali pointed out his client had to book another ticket to Azerbaijan as she rejected the offer to replace her ticket in order not to change her destination.

He revealed his client lost the value of the plane ticket in addition to the money she paid to book a room in a hotel. He continued saying that KAC refused to hand over the luggage to his client until the next day following the cancellation of the flight
