KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: The Court of Appeals chaired by Judge Hussein Masoud upheld the verdict of the Court of First Instance that acquitted a Vice Corporal at the Ministry of Interior of committing immoral acts with a shemale during official duty inside a computer room at Maidan Hawalli police station. A detective officer at the police station said the first suspect (vice corporal) carried out the act with the consent of the second suspect (shemale). He explained the latter was detained over an incident when she agreed to commit immorality with the first suspect, and that he saw the two suspects entering the computer room where they spent almost five minutes. The first suspect then came out and headed for the toilet, while the second suspect went to Forensics afterward with a piece of cigarette in her hand and filed a complaint against the first suspect alleging he had carnal knowledge of her. Defendant Attorney Abdul-Mohsin Al-Qattan described allegations against his client as suspicious. He went ahead to dismiss testimonies of the detective officer, saying no concrete evidence was presented to substantiate the claim.

‘Fake’ citizenship: The Criminal Court on Monday will look into the case of six Syrians accused of obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship fraudulently. This came after hearing on the case was adjourned Sunday for further review. Investigations revealed a Syrian obtained Kuwaiti citizenship by linking himself with a citizen’s name and his children got the Kuwaiti citizenship through him. He later added others to the citizen’s name in exchange for huge amounts and a number of those added to the file ended up working in the National Guard and the oil sector. The Public Prosecution charged the other accused as accomplices in this crime. The suspects denied the charges, saying they do not know the names of Syrians presented to them and they have no relationship with them.
