Court acquits eight royals in human trafficking case

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Abdullah Othman Al-Rashid upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which acquitted eight members of the ruling family who, along with some others, were accused of bringing domestic workers into the country illegally. During the court session, the counsel to two ruling family members Lawyer Dawood Al-Sabah insisted that his clients have nothing to do with the accusations leveled against them due to which they should be acquitted. Meanwhile, the Misdemeanor Court fined an online magazine and an individual KD 5,000 each over a case filed by Lawyer Dawood Al-Sabah, who accused them of defamation. The court also accepted a civil case against them.
