Cost of birth delivery in Kuwait expensive for Expats

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: Number of expatriates women coming to Kuwait on a visit visa to give births in public hospitals are very few because the cost of delivery is 400 dinars which is considered double than it would cost them in their respective countries, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to the latest figures a normal delivery in the United States cost KD 242, while it is 151 dinars in Lebanon, 182 dinars in Egypt, 107 dinars in Bangladesh,160 dinars in Iran, 94 in Jordan, 285 in Morocco, 296 in the Philippines while some token money is collected in Algeria, Pakistan and India.

In a related context, informed sources revealed the low delivery rates of expatriate women coming on visit visa after the decision of the Ministry of Health to implement the increase in health services in October 2017 indicate the delivery rates of residents in the country has not significantly been affected.
