Cooperative Societies Indoor Football Championship concludes

The Second Cooperative Societies Indoor Football Championship will end on Monday, April 24 under the patronage and in the presence of Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Fawaz Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.

The championship, which was organized by Ahmadi Governorate on April 23-24 at Al-Shabab Sports Club in Ahmadi area, witnessed the participation of 15 teams. During the closing ceremony, the first three winning teams will be honored.

Director of Public Relations in Ahmadi Governorate and General Manager of the tournament Hamed Al-Ibrahim said the tournament is being held for the second consecutive year under the sponsorship of Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Petrochemical Industries Company and Public Authority for Sports.

He explained that the first day of the matches saw strong competition between the teams of group 1 and 2, as each team had a strong desire to sail through to the finals.

Monday’s matches will see Hadiya Cooperative Society (Saeed bin Amer) face Sabah Al-Ahmad Cooperative Society (Talha bin Abeed) for the third and fourth position.

The finals will witness Fahad Al-Ahmad Cooperative Society (Battle of the Palace) and Mangaf Cooperative Society (Hesham Bin Al-As) battle for the first and second position.

The qualifying matches for the top four positions had started on Saturday whereby Group 1 consisted of Fahad Al-Ahmad, Fintas, Sabahiya, Abu Halifa, Ahmadi, Fahaheel and Hadiya cooperative societies whereas Group 2 consisted of Sabah Al-Ahmad, Daher, Riqqa, Ali Sabah Al-Ahmad, Mangaf, Jaber Al-Ali, Animal Resources and Wafra Agricultural cooperative societies.
