KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Cabinet has instructed all state authorities to reduce the number of contracts with private companies that provide expatriate workers as technical and administrative staff, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that this step is among those taken by the government with the intention of reducing the number of expatriates working in ministries and government establishments and to make those positions available to citizens, especially since most of these jobs can be taken up by Kuwaiti graduates.

The sources affirmed that the Cabinet has asked ministries and government authorities to replace expatriate workers with Kuwaiti citizens and to stop renewal of contracts of expatriates except for urgent cases for which the Cabinet must be provided with the reasons.
