Consumers concerned as ‘plastic-eyed’ fish clip goes viral

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: The Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is conducting intensive investigation into the video clip that went viral on social media showing a fishmonger replacing the eyes of fish with plastic to make it appear fresh, reports Al- Rai daily. The video clip was posted by a woman who said she was cleaning the fish and was shocked when she found plastic eyes instead of the natural ones. Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan ordered intensive investigations to verify authenticity of the video clip in a bid to ensure that it is not malicious and to pave way for summoning the suspect.
