Commercial licenses to be linked to accredited certificates specialized in Business Law, Medicine, Engineering etc.

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 8: The Legislation and Fatwa Department has asked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry about the procedures for combating the fake certificates phenomenon, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.

Sources said the department requested for the ministry’s opinion on the idea of linking the issuance of commercial licenses to obtaining accredited certificates for certain fields of specialization such as Business Law, Medicine, Engineering and others.

Sources added the decisions, which will be taken in this regard, include prohibiting the use of titles like doctor on media platforms or advertisements unless the certificate is accredited by the relevant authorities in the country
