‘Project will provide jobs for Kuwaiti youth, retirees’

KUWAIT CITY, June 13: Head of Cooperative Societies Union Khalid Al-Hudaiban affirmed the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has received the sector’s proposal to establish nurseries in different residential areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Hudaiban added the proposed establishment of the nurseries in different residential areas is part of the sector’s plan to get the most out of its 20 percent profit allocation for social services, while giving back to society through investment instead of accumulating profits year after year.

He added the idea will contribute to reduce financial pressures on families; noting the union first considered supporting already established nurseries but the plan was not applicable since those nurseries are owned by private sector.

He called on relevant authorities to allocate plots needed for the project in the vicinity of cooperative societies. He reiterated the project will provide jobs for Kuwaiti youth and retirees having teaching experience.
