CMA launches next phase of bidding for equity stake in Boursa Kuwait

Qualified local investors, int’l operators were given additional time to express interest

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 2: The Capital Markets Authority (“CMA”) on the 28th of June 2018 issued an announcement regarding the bidding for an equity stake in Boursa Kuwait. Following consultation sessions with local investors, the CMA had agreed to accommodate their feedback, and extended the transaction timeline until the end of the calendar year 2018.

As a result, qualified local investors and international operators were given additional time to express interest in the opportunity. The 1st of August marked a key milestone in the overall process, whereby investors were asked to express interest in exploring the opportunity further.

The initial phase has been successful with significant interest demonstrated by both international operators and local investors. Interested investors are now able to evaluate the opportunity in more detail through a Virtual Data Room. The CMA remains committed to collaborating with all stakeholders, to ensure the success of the transaction and the best outcome for the State of Kuwait.
