Citizens expect govt to extend Eid holidays by two more days

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: With the advent of Eid Al-Adha, Kuwaiti citizens are waiting to receive good news from the government about extending the Eid holidays for two more days so that the total number of holidays becomes nine days, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

Meanwhile, they explained that ‘Waqfa’ (the day before Eid) is expected to be on Saturday, Sept 10 in which case the holidays will be for five days until Tuesday, Sept 13 including Friday, Sept 9.

Citizens are hoping that the government also declares Wednesday, Sept 14 and Thursday, Sept 15 as holidays and the start of work from Sunday, Sept 18. The sources said the extension of Eid holidays will help pilgrims who will return after their journey during the holidays
