KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post have thwarted the attempt of an unidentified passenger to smuggle cigarettes packs to a neighboring country, reports Al-Anba daily. Officers have discovered a new means of smuggling after cigarettes packs were found hidden in packs of flour manufactured by the Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries Company. According to a customs source, customs officers suspected a vehicle loaded with flour from the Kuwait Flour Mills Company, examined the bags that came out of the factory for sale and seized packs hidden inside.The contraband and the smuggler have been referred to the authorities. In the meantime investigations are on how the packs were hidden inside the packs of fl our. Meanwhile, Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post also foiled two attempts of Saudi men to smuggle out of the country 134 cartons of cigarettes, reports Annahar daily.The daily quoting sources said 54 cartons were found hidden under the the back seat of one of the vehicles and 80 cartons in the trunk of the other car. The contraband and the suspects have been referred to the authorities.
