KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8: A female attorney has filed a complaint with the Fintas Police Station, on behalf of her female Kuwaiti client, accusing the caretaker of the building she owns in Mahboula for collecting the rent from tenants (4,355 dinars) and not handing over the money to her, reports Al-Anba daily. When the caretaker was summoned by police for interrogation he denied swindling the owner of the building and told police three tenants have not been paying the rent since March due to the outbreak of the corona pandemic and that he had verbally notified the owner of the building but no instructions were given to him.

He added, he is surprised that the owner has filed a case against him, even though he was just an employee and the tenants have been communicating with the owner of the building, tenants who were affected by interruption of work. It is noteworthy to mention here that a large number of expatriates have refused to pay rents for some months because their businesses were shut down and a majority could not go to work, in the belief there will be room for their exemption while there are others who have already left the country.
