KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) has closed the tender bids for the management, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of mobile processing units for the various areas of Kuwait, for about 53 treatment units covering the Sabah Al-Ahmad and West Abdullah Al-Mubarak regions, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Board of Directors of CAPT decided to refer the 5 tender documents to the Ministry of Public Works for study and necessary recommendations thereon within 30 days. Well-informed sources in the Ministry indicated the ministry has set several conditions for this tender, including the provision of silencer fitted diesel generators in case of power failure to prevent noise pollution in residential areas since these power generators will be placed outside.
The sources pointed to the importance maintaining the temperature of treated which should not exceed ‘45 degrees Celsius’, and that it should not be collected in the water collection tank to prevent the rise in temperature and should rather be disposed of directly. The ministry has stressed on the importance of determining the value of minerals in the treated water in line with the requirements of CAPT taking into account the proportions of these minerals in wastewater which should be within permissible levels.
