Camping tents demolished – Officer detained for assaulting compatriot

KUWAIT CITY, April 3: The Public Relations and Media Department of Kuwait Municipality announced the launch of campaigns to remove violating spring camping tents in accordance with the administrative decision No. 25/2016 related to organization of the 2016/2017 camping season which started on Oct 1, 2016 and ended on March 31, 2017, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The campaigns began with the removal of 41 tents in Julai’a and surrounding areas as well as Ahmadi Stables area. The department affirmed that the campaigns, which are spearheaded by specialized teams from the municipality, will continue.

Officer detained: A Kuwaiti working for the Ministry of Defense has been kept in the custody of the Fintas Police Station for assaulting a compatriot, reports Al-Rai daily. The arrest came after the victim filed a complaint and submitted a medical report, and the car plate number of the suspect’s vehicle. Upon instructions from the military police the military man has been asked to change his military uniform.
