Burgan Bank celebrates 40th anniversary at town-hall meeting – Employee event opens floor for interactive two-way dialogue to ensure engagement

KUWAIT CITY, April 22: Burgan Bank celebrated its annual employee town-hall gathering this year and highlighting four decades of continued success across the board. The annual corporate event which was held on April 19th, commended employees’ continued contributions towards the success of Burgan Bank which was, at its establishment in 1977, a small local Kuwaiti bank and is now a celebrated regional financial powerhouse.

The annual event started with a message from the Chairman of the Board, Majed Essa Al-Ajeel, and was held with the presence of Eduardo Eguren — Group CEO, and the Bank’s executive management. The event highlighted the achievements of the employees, the Bank’s performance, and acts as a platform for alignment of objectives and trajectory.

Unlike tradition, this year’s town-hall was structured as a panel discussion session as the bank’s Human Resources Department aimed to solidify a culture of dialogue and cooperation as part of its strategic progressive approach and application of best practices of employee engagement. The unique forum allowed room for open discussions among executive management and employees. Additionally, the employees witnessed the launch of a new progressive scheme that involved internal initiatives to strengthen employee engagement with the aim of supporting an innovative, efficient, and productive workforce.

Commenting on this occasion, Halah El Sherbini — Burgan Bank’s Group Chief Human Resources & Development officer said: “We, at Burgan Bank, have achieved various milestones throughout our 40 year journey. We acknowledge and celebrate the dedication and perseverance of staff’s efforts under the leadership of a highly driven management team; a momentum that has transformed the Bank to become a regional financial institute which applies best practices at every level. The Town Hall event this year served as a median to showcase our unified vision for the upcoming years. It also conveyed our business model and culture of customer-centricity which we take pride in.”

The employee Town-Hall constitutes a crystallization of the Bank’s belief that adapting an efficient, collaborative, and objective-driven environment is merely a result of its successful performance culture clubbed with transparent two-way communication between the employees and the management; an articulation of the Bank’s high-standards at its best.
