KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: There could be a certain disaster when 180-tonne concrete blocks rained down while work was going on, on a bridge in Nuwaiseeb if there were any people around at that time of the mishap, reports Al-Rai daily. In spite of the fact that the incident took place more than a week ago, the authorities responsible for it tried to cover it up and not announce the catastrophic details. However, a video clip documenting the incident prompted the Public Roads Authority to rush to deny any role in connection with the project before the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) announced that the bridge is part of the construction of the Zour refinery and the roads leading to it. This has caused temporary disruption of the project.
