KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: Nine women were arrested for operating a bogus domestic workers office where they carried out illegal activities involving fraud, cheating and trading in runaway domestic workers as well as providing shelter to absconders and selling them to other people. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, detectives from the General Department for Residency Affairs commenced covert investigations as soon as they received information about the activities of the suspects.
They discovered that the suspects’ mode of operation seemed as though they had agreement with the domestic workers to abscond and seek shelter in their hideout. All the women caught in the apartment were reported as absconding. The arrested suspects have been referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal procedures.
