KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: Officers from the Security Residency Affairs Department in the Interior Ministry arrested an Arab who was found to be working in a bogus company, which provides shelter to marginal workers and those who escaped from their sponsors.

This is in compliance with the instructions Director General of the department Brigadier Saud Al-Khater who took action immediately after receiving information that the suspect was transporting domestic helpers to their supposed work places. The officers also tracked down the domestic helpers, leading to the arrest of seven — all Asians.

During interrogation, the domestic helpers disclosed the company provided them with shelter and gave them jobs in exchange for an undisclosed amount. A case was registered and all those arrested were referred to the relevant security department for legal action. The department confirmed the surprise inspection campaigns will continue in a bid to arrest all those proven to have violated the laws. It also appealed to citizens and expatriates to stop dealing with bogus companies to avoid legal problems.
