Blogger fined KD 2,000 for publishing confidential information

KUWAIT CITY, March 4: The Criminal Court imposed a fine of KD2,000 on a blogger who published confidential information about the treatment of MP Obaid Al-Wasmi in America. The court ordered removal of photos of medical reports posted on social media platforms, while the civil case was referred to the concerned department to decide on the amount of compensation.

The Public Prosecution charged the accused with publishing confidential documents on Twitter, defaming and insulting Al-Wasmi, and misusage of his mobile phone. The accused denied all the charges. By Jaber Al-Hamoud Al-Seyassah Staff
