Bid to monitor rates of 500 commodities

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed a contract with the Middle East Prozon Company to compile an electronic price list weekly to monitor the prices of 500 commodities at various outlets to help the ministry keep a tap on the prices and compare them, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources said the contract was signed on March 25, 2021, and the estimated cost of the project, according to estimates of technical support and planning is worth 75 thousand dinars.

Port to customs: The Ministry of Interior has issued a decision No. 269 of 2021 on May 5 to transform Al-Zour sea port of the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) into a customs department subject to customs regulations, laws and decisions, and will be under the supervision and control of the General Administration of Customs, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to reliable sources the KIPIC officials held several meetings over the past weeks with the General Administration of Customs to expedite the operation of marine operations and hand over the the liquefied gas port to customs center at the Al-Zour oil complex.
