Bid to smuggle marijuana

KUWAIT CITY, March 3: An Asian expatriate was arrested at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle two kilograms of marijuana into the country. According to sources, the customs officers at the airport suspected the Asian passenger who had arrived from his country and checked his luggage thoroughly to find the marijuana. The passenger was arrested and referred with the marijuana to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Iranians held: Three Iranian nationals were arrested for attempting to smuggle 128 pieces of a drug substance via sea into the country, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department for Public Relations and Security Media explained that the Coast Guard’s radar system discovered a boat on the verge of crossing into Kuwaiti territorial waters and dispatched patrol officers of Coast Guard to the location. They stopped the boat and discovered three Iranian sailors onboard who were attempting to enter the country illegally. Sensing their nervousness, marine officers checked the boat and found 128 pieces of a drug substance. They arrested the sailors and referred them with the confiscated drug to the concerned authorities for further investigations.
