Bedoun flees, rearrested; Syrian held with drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: A Bedoun man accused of theft managed to escape from a security officer on their way to the Public Prosecution, and his spouse aided the police to arrest him. A security source said the suspect was detained in Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station throughout the investigation, and he managed to flee from the officer escorting him to the Jahra Public Prosecution after he refused to board the patrol car.

Jahra Security Commander Major General Ali Madi was notified about the incident and a search and investigation team was formed right away to trail the suspect. In the meantime, detectives contacted the wife to persuade the suspect to turn himself in, and the woman followed up to the station while the accused surrendered later on.

Relevant action was taken against him. The same source noted the officer that accompanied the accused was detained for enabling an accused person to escape, and later referred to the Directorate General of Criminal investigation.

Syrian held with drugs: A Bedoun man was arrested in possession of drugs. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were on routine patrol duty when they suspected a Japanese-made vehicle and order the driver to pull over. After noticing his disoriented state, they checked his details and discovered he is a Bedoun. They also found an undisclosed quantity of drugs and money on him. The suspect was arrested and referred with the confiscated drugs to the Drugs Control General Department for investigations. Meanwhile, a Syrian expatriate was arrested in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area in possession of narcotic pills
