Bedoun duo held for beating couple in theft bid – Trio steals young woman’s phone

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: Police have arrested two bedoun for impersonating police and assaulting an Egyptian man and his wife in an attempt to rob them, reports Al-Anba daily. A security source said the arrest came when an unidentified expatriate called the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry when he saw the duo assaulting the couple and driving off. The Egyptian told police the suspects stopped them and said they were police and demanded to see their IDs. The men then started beating them and when they knew their identities had been discovered they escaped in a getaway car. Information provided to police about the vehicle of the impersonators led to their arrest. Initially police arrested one of them and he gave police the details of his accomplice. The suspects were picked from a legal line up by the victims.
Phone stolen: In a strange incident three unidentified men broke into the apartment of a woman in her 20s in the city of Sa’ad Al-Abdullah and escaped with her cell phone, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting security sources said according to the complainant the men were armed with cleavers. She told the area police station she heard a knock on the door at 4:00 am and when she opened the door she found three masked armed men in front of her. She said she does not know what the motive behind taking her cell phone is, but her only fear is that they may publish her pictures on the social media. Police will the complainant for further interrogation and get more information about the suspects.
Bootleggers caught: The Ahmadi police have arrested 3 Indians for bootlegging and referred them to the relevant authorities, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the suspects were arrested in Fintas when a police patrol suspected the man behind the wheel of a laundry vehicle because he looked confused. Police found inside the vehicle two other men and bottles filled with locally-manufactured alcohol inside four cartons
