Ban on 31 countries is not related to political reasons

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: Prohibiting flights from some countries is a health-related decision, not political; and that it is implemented until further notice, not permanently, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting diplomatic sources.

Speaking to the daily, sources assured that diplomatic relations will not be affected by this ban; as there is an understanding among all countries in the same manner that Kuwait understands similar decisions taken by other countries.

Sources pointed out the list of banned countries was announced for several reasons, the most important of which are the global indicators of the spread of corona in these countries and the commitment not to spread it further in Kuwait, especially as the third stage of the gradual return to normal life has started.

Sources confirmed coordination with health authorities to regularly review the list of banned countries in order to issue a new list whenever deemed appropriate.
