MANAMA, Bahrain, Feb 6, (KUNA): Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said on Saturday it had thwarted plans for a pair of “terrorist” bomb attacks targeting ATM machines belonging to a local bank, the state news agency reported. “As part of security protection efforts, authorities foiled two terrorist plots targeting two ATMs of a national bank in Nuaim and Jidhafs areas in the Capital Governorate,” BNA news agency quoted a ministry statement. Explosives disposal units on Wednesday dealt with two bombs placed at different locations for a “terrorist purpose,” BNA said, adding that a number of suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, pending a probe.
