KUWAIT CITY, May 31: Ahli United Bank (AUB) announced the launch of its social program during the Holy Month of Ramadan, through which it offers a number of charitable, cultural, religious and social welfare activities, in order to play an active role in serving the community.Ahli United Bank declared its keenness to develop its social program for the month of Ramadan, year after year, to ensure the best activities that fit the nature of the Holy Month and deepen the Bank’s association with the community.This year, the Bank has launched a TV commercial to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, carrying a welcome message, “Ramadan is here”, The message focuses on the  values that unite us in Ramadan, such as visiting family and relatives, celebrating with children on the occasion of Girgean, as well as exchanging greetings, congratulations, and spreading joy and happiness in the hearts of all.AUB said in a press release: “Our social program throughout the month of Ramadan includes an extensive array of activities and initiatives such as issuing the Imsakiya prior to Ramadan, as well as driving an employee religious seminar under the name ‘How do we get ready for Ramadan?’, delivered by Sheikh Dr. Khaled Al-Mathkoor, AUB’s Chairman of the Fatwa and Shari’ah Supervisory Board. Many employees attended the seminar.”The Bank has organized its Ramadan Qur’an Recitation Competition, which is being held for the third consecutive year. This year, the competition has been developed to include four primary categories: male and female employees,  staff members’ children and the public, for children whose ages range between 6 to fourteen years old.In an effort to promote and encourage religious awareness through media, AUB will support the prominent Hadith program “Ahadith Wa Ebar”, which is broadcasted on Al Rai TV throughout the month of Ramadan, and is presented by Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz Al Qassar, a member of AUB’s Fatwa and Shari’ah Supervisory Board. The program aims to thoroughly address a chosen number of Hadiths.AUB added: “In line with AUB’s commitment towards charity work that is in line with the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Bank’s social program includes a number of social initiatives which include visits by staff  to children in hospitals, distributing gifts with an objective of easing their pain, and bringing more joy and happiness to them throughout the month. The Bank also encourages its employees who are interested in volunteering to participate,  in such social work.AUB, in collaboration with social volunteering groups, will hold a number of activities that include distributing food and clothes to less fortunate families along with a number of visits to the elderly in homes and distributing gifts and Girgean.AUB concluded, “We believe in the importance of social giving, and as a leading financial institution that operates in line with the Islamic Shari’ah, we are committed to interacting with our local community and supporting its well-being throughout the month of Ramadan, a time when good deeds are expected, and to help people in need.
