Asian trio held with liquor

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: Three Asian expatriates were arrested on coastal road in possession of 34 bottles of locally manufactured liquor, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling on the Coastal Road when they suspected a mini-bus and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the details of the driver and his two passengers to discover they are Asian expatriates. Securitymen found a big carton with 34 bottles of locally manufactured liquor inside the mini-bus. The three suspects were arrested and referred with the liquor bottles to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Drugs seized at airport: Customs Unit at Kuwait Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle half kilogram of illicit drug Chemical through air cargo, says Al-Seyassah. A security source said the carefully-hidden parcel was coming from an unnamed European country via express mail, and customs officers detected it. A case was registered for investigation and measures have since been taken to arrest the owner believed to be an Arab national.

Kuwaiti citizen’s car stolen: A person yet-to-be identified stole the vehicle of a Kuwaiti citizen in Oyoun area. In a complaint to security operatives, the citizen said the vehicle was parked in front of his house. He provided details of the vehicle to the police, and a case was registered to trail the suspect.

Man wanted in 16 cases: Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department arrested a 32 year-old Kuwaiti citizen who is wanted for 16 cases that vary from fraud, betrayal of trust to nonpayment of debts, reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources, detectives received information about the suspect who was in hiding and the several cases he is implicated in for which orders of his arrest had been issued. An arrest warrant was also issued by the Cybercrime Department. He was also required to serve a six-month suspended sentence in a misdemeanor case. He was referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department for necessary legal action.
