KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Kuwait Municipality has admitted that garbage is piling up on streets in various areas, casting the blame on the cleaning companies whose contracts have expired, as well as on Asian expatriates who do not place domestic waste properly in bags due to which they scatter around while being collected by the garbage trucks, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The Municipality stated this in response to an article titled, “Cleaning campaigns for municipality while garbage pile up on the streets” that was recently published in Al-Seyassah newspaper with reference to municipality’s awareness campaign titled “Keep it Clean” that was launched few days ago.

In its response, the municipality indicated that the campaign was aimed at spreading awareness and educating the public about the importance of preserving cleanliness; however, it also stressed on the importance of collective work to ensure the objective of keeping the streets clean and maintaining high level of public hygiene is met
