KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: Two Asian expatriates were arrested for running a liquor factory in Sabah Al-Ahmad City from where 50 barrels of locally manufactured liquor, 211 liquor bottles and equipment used for manufacturing liquor were confiscated. According to security sources, when Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa received information about two Asian expatriates manufacturing liquor in their house in Sabah Al-Ahmad City, a security team was formed for investigations.

After confirming the information and obtaining a warrant, Ahmadi securitymen raided the house and arrested the suspects.

They confiscated 50 barrels of locally manufactured liquor, 211 liquor bottles and equipment used for manufacturing liquor. The suspects were referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for further investigations.

Meanwhile, two Asians were arrested in Hawalli for trading in local alcohol with 70 bottles of liquor in their possession. While patrolling the area, the securitymen noticed the erratic movement of a vehicle so they signaled for the driver to pull over. When the officers approached the vehicle, they saw the driver and his companion – both Asians – looked agitated. The officers then searched the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the bottles of locally brewed alcohol
