KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: Officers from the General Residency Affairs Department arrested six Asians for operating illegal international call centers in Farwaniya. In a press statement, the Interior Ministry revealed the department acted on a tip off and the officers set a trap by using three international call websites to arrest the suspects. This is part of a plan to eliminate negative phenomena related to Residency Law violations.
All those arrested were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal measures, including deportation.
It has been reported that the ministry has intensified its campaign against those proven to have violated the laws of the country in order to protect lives and maintain peace and order. Meanwhile, police are looking for two Asians for trading in locally-manufactured alcohol, reports Annahar daily.
The Farwaniya patrolmen on duty in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh saw the two suspects riding in a bus but they managed to escape on foot when police approached them. Police found 406 bottles of alcohol inside the bus. And, police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into a shop in Abu Halifa and escaped with used cell phones and pre-paid telephone cards, reports Al-Rai daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.
