KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11:  Two expatriates – an Ethiopian and an Asian – have been detained in Khaitan Police Station for investigations over allegations of inciting housemaids to run away from their sponsors, reports Al- Anba daily.

According to security sources, the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a Kuwaiti citizen that an Ethiopian man and an Asian driver have been working together to help housemaids escape from their sponsors.

The citizen explained that the two suspects helped his two housemaids escape within 48 hours after they were hired. His third housemaid informed him that she received a call from the two runaway housemaids who told her that they ran away because they were tired of working hard for a meager salary of KD 150.

He then asked his housemaid to follow up on them and make them believe that she also wants to escape like them. The two housemaids then told her that two expatriates will help her escape. When they arrived, the citizen caught them and contacted the Operations Room. Securitymen rushed to the location and arrested the two suspects.
