‘Arriving, departing passengers to be physically searched’

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 8: Official directives have been issued to physically search arriving and departing passengers at Kuwait International Airport, reports Al-Shahid daily.

In his statement, Director General of Airport Security Brigadier Waleed Al-Saleh affirmed that this year is considered special for Kuwait, as the summer season coincided with the Holy Month of Ramadan, Eid Al-Fitr, pilgrimage (Hajj) and Eid Al-Adha so the number of counters and inspection devices have been increased, besides the opening of a new departure terminal and increase of personnel in the airport security sector.

He confirmed ordering new and advanced equipment in airport security, indicating the supplies will arrive soon to boost security, to ease the workload of the personnel and to enhance security procedures taking into consideration the tension-filled atmosphere in the region
