Around 100 people arrested for ‘begging’ to be deported

KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Nearly 100 people were arrested during the first five months of 2018 for begging for alms, which in Kuwait is a violation of the law, reports Annahar daily quoting sources from the Manpower Public Authority.

The same sources said all those arrested have been referred to the concerned authority to prepare their deportation from the country. Meanwhile, the sources said 962 violators of the residence law were also arrested during the same period.

The daily added, 431 of them were arrested for violating the labor law, including 62 who were on dependent visa. This is in addition to 446 domestic workers, three persons who arrived on visit visas, 18 bedoun and two citizens from an unidentified GCC country.
