Areas for barbecue specified

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 16: Acting Kuwait Municipality Director General Ahmad Al-Manfoohi has unveiled the Municipality’s plan to specify areas along the coastline and public gardens, which are environmentally and systematically ready for barbecue activities, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Manfoohi disclosed the Municipality has formed a joint committee consisting of members from the Touristic Enterprises Company (TEC) and the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fisheries Resources (PAAAFR.

The role of the committee is to suggest a number of locations where people are allowed to grill in accordance with the Environment Protection Law. He said the areas for grilling will be under the supervision of the Municipality in line with an integrated mechanism that will be laid down by the concerned bodies. He added the Supreme Committee in the Municipality will meet soon to look into the suggested barbecue areas and then issue a decision to open these areas to the public free of charge.
