KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: Ahmadi securitymen arrested nine expatriate men and women during a security campaign in Mangaf area. According to security sources, securitymen headed by Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa launched the sudden security campaign for which they closed the entrance and exit roads of Mangaf area.
They arrested nine expatriate men and women who were reported as absconding and referred them to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
Meanwhile, an Indian expatriate was arrested in Abu Halifa area in possession of 26 bottles of locally manufactured liquor. Securitymen had to chase him by foot in order to arrest him and he was referred to the police station of the area for investigations.
In addition, a Kuwaiti woman, who is wanted by law for the financial case worth KD 1,200, was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities.

90-year-jail: Personnel from the Sentences Enforcement Department have arrested an unidentified Egyptian man who had been sentenced in absentia to 90 years imprisonment in connection with several crimes related to trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Without going into details the daily said the Egyptian was picked up from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh after setting a trap for him following a tip-off from an unidentified police agent.

Kuwaiti swindled: A Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the Sharq Police Station accusing a real estate company of swindling him, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to the complainant, he signed a contract with the company to purchase real estate in an Arab country and paid KD 36,000 in advance, followed by another payment worth KD 5,278.
He added later he discovered that the company was known to have cheated some people and approached the company to get his money back, but was reportedly told the terms of the contract say money cannot be returned after signing the contract.

Police shot at: Police are looking for unidentified persons for shooting at a police vehicle in a failed bid to help their Kuwaiti friend escape while the latter was being escorted to the Sentences Enforcement Department, reports Al-Anba daily.
The daily added, the suspects then abandoned their Jeep and escaped on foot to avoid being arrested.
The incident happened in Sulaibiya. No one was injured.
Police are interrogating the citizen and have demanded information about his friends.

Worker humiliated: Police summoned an unidentified Kuwaiti for assaulting and insulting a female employee of the Adan Citizens Service Center for interrogation, he is said to have admitted to the charge, reports Al-Rai daily.

This happened when the employee in her complaint said the man submitted incomplete set of documents when he came to complete a transaction and when he was told the transaction cannot be processed without the missing documents, he lost his temper, assaulted and humiliated her in front of colleagues and visitors and left the place without collecting his documents.
A case has been registered against him.

House on fire: Acting on information firemen from the Sulaibiya fire station rushed to a house in the area and put out the fire before it spread to the entire area, reports Al-Rai daily.
No casualties have been reported.
