KUWAIT CITY, June 23: The Italian player Adriano of the Boubyan Bank team ignited the crowd by scoring fi ve of his team’s eight goals against Jawazat team on the 18th day of the Late Abdullah Meshari Al-Rawdhan Ramadan Indoor Football Tournament. Hence, Boubyan Bank have topped in their group at the end of the fi rst round. In their fi rst match against the Sparkers team, the Boubyan Bank team struggled but managed to win because of two goals scored by Ihab Al-Saad and the Brazilian player Lucas. It topped the group even though the Late Ahmad Al-Roumi team had the same number of points – seven points. Sparkers, which had just one point, were knocked out.

In its second match against the Jawazat team, Adriano and his compatriot Dodo showcased excellent performance. Adriano thrilled the crowd with his skills and dramatic goals, and managed to score fi ve goals while his teammates Dodo, Hamad Hayat and Saif scored a goal each. On the other hand, Jawazat team, which had scored just two goals through its players Mohammad Khan and Ali Kamel Khalil, bid farewell to the tournament.

In the third match, the Arab Parliamentary Scouts Union defeated the late Musaed Al-Mailem team through a hat-trick by the player Eric Silva while the player Majed Al-Enzi from the late Musaed Al-Mailem team scored two goals. In the matches scheduled for today, Al- Nasser Al-Emirati team will face Americana team and Dar Al-Mohammadia team will face Balaga team. Al-Nasser needs to win against the group topper Americana to reach the next round.

In the youth category, Al-Meer team defeated the Champions by 1-0 while the Green Fort hammered Diwaniyat Al- Abassi by six goals to none. Two matches are scheduled today. The Kazma team will face the Late Samir Saed team and the Striker Academy team will face the Pro-sport Academy team. Meanwhile, one of the Golden Age stars Saad Al-Houti said he is happy to be in the Late Fahad Al-Ahmad Hall in Da’iya to watch the matches of the Late Abdullah Meshari Al-Rawdhan Ramadan Indoor Football Tournament.

He affi rmed that this tournament has reached its 37th anniversary and has become the main sporting event of the Ramadan season. Al-Houti commended the efforts exerted by the organizing committee led by Khalid Al-Rawdhan and director of the tournament Hussain Ghanem as well as the work crew for their innovativeness and inventiveness in the Kuwaiti youth sports sector every year. In addition, the organizing committee honored the Coach of Saudi Sparkers team Bandar Busreeh for his effective participation in the competitions of the tournament. Hussain Ghanem presented him with a memento of appreciation.
