Arab leaders launch 31st summit in Algeria

ALGIERS, Nov 1: The Arab Summit kicked off on Tuesday to the attendance of 13 leaders, eight delegation heads and the Arab League chief. Qais Said, President of Tunisia, the former Summit presidency, launched the talks by saying in a speech that the Arab world is living under “unstable conditions”. “This region has been impacted by matters like COVID, war, food security, organised crime and terror. These crises have disturbed the world order, which needs a “new and unconventional definition,” he said. During its presidency, he said his nation worked to encourage joint efforts amongst the region’s countries and that it would continue to do so

The Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, along with an official delegation, departed Kuwait on Tuesday to Algeria for participating in the 31st Arab Summit. His Highness Sheikh Mishal will head the State of Kuwait delegation at the summit. He and his entourage were seen off at Kuwait International Airport by National Assembly Speaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun, His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and senior state officials.

His Highness the Crown Prince, along with an official delegation have since arrived in Algiers. His Highness the Amir’s Representative was welcomed by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Secretary- General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, Kuwaiti Ambassador in Algeria Mohammad Marzouq Al-Shab and Head of the Accompanying Mission of Honor, Algerian Ambassador in Kuwait Abdulmalek Buhduo.(KUNA)
