KUWAIT CITY, July 23: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance that obliged a company to pay one of its marketing representatives a sum of KD 6,000 as well as legal fees of KD 100, which is part of the legal settlement as per the labor law.

According to the case file, the plaintiff (the marketing representative) worked for the defendant (the company) for a monthly salary of KD 850. After completing his service term, the company failed to fulfill the labor rights of the employee, and the two parties failed to settle the dispute amicably.

Representing the plaintiff was Lawyer Enaam Haydar, who presented documents to support the claims of her client. This prompted the court to appoint an expert to determine the matter. However, when the expert failed to deliver facts of the issue in a manner that corresponds to article No. 57 of Kuwait’s labor law, the attorney requested for another expert.
