KUWAIT CITY, July 18, (Agencies): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah entered the hospital Saturday to carry out a number of medical checkups, said an official. Minister of the Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al- Sabah revealed that His Highness the Amir was in good health, expressing his wishes of continued prosperity and wellbeing for Kuwait’s leader.

Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim has, meanwhile, assured the citizens that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad enjoys good health, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Al-Ghanim on his Twitter account said ‘All is well’ and that “I just had the honor to have breakfast with my father, HH the Amir of the country – as is the practice on Thursdays – and I say to the good people of Kuwaiti who pray for the well-being of HH the Amir, be rest assured, our father is healthy and well.” However, he added, “His Highness the Amir was to undergo routine medical tests, and we ask the Almighty to protect him and keep him safe and called him an asset for the country.”

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said in a press statement after the last extraordinary Cabinet meeting that HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled briefed the Cabinet at the beginning of the meeting on the contents of his meeting with HH the Amir. He added, the Amir had expressed his satisfaction with the government efforts to confront the spread of the coronavirus.

The Amir directed to continue efforts and devote all capabilities and take necessary measures to spare citizens the consequences of the corona disaster at all levels “health, security, economic and social”, especially the issue of education.
