Amendment to Indemnity law – No deductions of financial expenses of worker to full indemnity

KUWAIT CITY, May 22: Amendment to private sector labor law number 6/2010, as stipulated by law number 17/2018 and published in the official gazette, states that a worker is entitled to full indemnity at the end of service in his place of work.

Source said the indemnity should not attract any deduction of financial responsibilities borne by the office due to subscription of the worker to the Public Institution for Social Security during the years of service.

He said the entitlement will be paid to the current employees retroactive to 2010 when they retire, such that it will cover a period of nine years since the law was activated until the date of publishing in the official gazette.
