KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Under the leadership of acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs in the Interior Ministry Major General Ali Madi, security officers affiliated to various sectors in the ministry recently launched an intensive security campaign in Qurain Market in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate.

The campaign resulted in the arrest of 89 persons for involvement in various cases. During the campaign, the officers surrounded Qurain Market as they were stationed in various entry and exit points to track down all those who have violated the laws of the country.

In a press statement, the General Public Relations and Security Media Department in the ministry disclosed those arrested in the campaign included 49 expatriates who violated the Residency Law, two who hold expired visas, 14 who failed to present valid identification documents, 17 who were reported absconding by their employers, two wanted by law for involvement in undisclosed cases, one for involvement in an alcohol-related case, two for involvement in drug cases, and three for involvement in financial cases.

The campaign also led to the recovery of two vehicles reported to have been used in committing crimes, impounding of four vehicles and issuance of 288 traffic citations. The department also confirmed the continuation of such campaigns throughout the country, in coordination with other concerned State institutions, in a bid to arrest all criminals and guarantee the safety of everyone.
