Al-Salmiya wins cross country race after 35 years

Athletics Technical Director at Al-Salmiya Sports Club Zakariya Al-Fili commended senior athletics team of the club for winning the cross country race after 35 years of concerted efforts to include the cup among silverwares in the club’s custody.

Al-Fili declared that Al-Salmiya finally succeeded being crowned with such a precious cup, in addition to other individual and team achievements. He wished the players more successes in future competitions.

In his comment, chairman of athletics at the club applauded the athletes for the historic attainment. He noted the current athletes have been sustaining historical successes attained by their predecessors, and the achievements started during the era of Sheikh Khalid Al-Yousef and Sheikh Hamad Al-Nasser. He affirmed that champions reaped the fruit of their labor with efforts of the technical and administrative crews by winning the association championship after a long disconnect.
