Al Qassem All Stars show prowess for lead – Asian Air Safari recover to take 2nd

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: In the semifinals’ stage of the on-going 2018 Philippine Bowling Associations in Kuwait General Members’ Cup Team Tournament at the Cozmo Bowling Center in Khaifan the ranking was Al Qassem All Stars — 3207, Asian Air Safari — 3183, Nusantara — 3079, Cozmo Bowling Team — 3022, Kuwait National Exchange Co — 2894 and Haribon Slazers (2677). The elimination round seventh placer down to the last spot have their piece and played three-game series with the top 4 winners to receive special prize.

After the three game series, the high and mighty Al Qassem All Stars showed their prowess and determination and snatched the number one position with the scores of 1106, 968, 1133. But their advantage with the second placer was only twenty four points difference. Top scorer was superstar Fahad Rageeb who delivered 234, 246, 227 (707) followed by another prolific scorer Abdul Aziz ‘The Giant’ Al Aslawi who scored 205, 174, 223 (602) and was assisted by Hassan Al Qassem (559), veteran Mousa Abdullah (553) and Ali Jawli (464).

Another potential champions, the Asian Air Safari team with slow start and just placed fourth in the first game with 985 points, easily recovered and rose to second place when they plucked 1067 and 1131 points in the second and third games. Top pointer was Salem ‘Smiley’ Hajras who scored 223, 226, 258 (707) and was assisted by internationalist Basil Al Enezi having scores of 177, 219, 207 (603), Aqeel Farisy (565), Camilo Baker (528) and Hermie Saliba (402). The Indonesian team NUSANTARA ranked third after winning the first and second games and loss in the third game with the scores of 994, 1039, 1046. They have ten marks deficit against the second placer. The high scorer was Ali Qassem who registered 221, 205, 287 (713) followed by Saleh Faraj (596), Ahmad Fahmi (510), Gantosori Tanjung (400), Razak Abdulah (290) and Erlisa (109).

Fourth placer were Cozmo Lane Specialists with just 5 marks shy from the third placer recorded 1001, 1046, 975 and their players were Noe Mahayag (571), Lito Michael (533), Alex Cervantes (517), Bader Malalah (500) and Neng Cervantes (492). Holding the fifth rank was the Kuwait National Exchange Co who scored 910, 994, 990 with team members Ali Qattan (592), Mohammad Karam (550), Neveen Wasel (542), Abdullah Dubayan (481) and Ibrahim Dubayan (150). In the six position was the All Filipino bowlers Haribon Slazers who played with just four placers Moises Amahan (529), Rudy de Lima (487), Joel Tizon (460) and Mar Evangelista (445).

Meanwhile, the winners of the bottom six teams with their bowlers were: 1. “X” Strikers (2874) — Rocky Castil (523), Rey Ualat (504), Abel Nitikusumo (468), Joe Presenta (462), Bima Nitikusumo (252) and Reygan Percy (155); 2. SKARZ (2836) — Amaldo Fernandes (475), Agnello Fernandes (439), Diego Camilo (347), John Fernandes (311), Alan Fernandes (119), Stephen Sequera (280) and Ignastius (107); 3. Swooping Eagles (2829) — Danny Solis (501), Riz Roque (485), Angie Bush (470), Alonzo Bush (454), Mona Corpuz (351) and 4. Pongky Strikers (2789) — Imelda Calingasan (497), Gener Calingasan (495), Adolfo Prena (432), Cathy Fernandes (412) and Rose Saliba (310).
