Al-Qadsiya Club were crowned champions of the Kuwaiti Athletics Federation Tournament for general and youth categories, after it was held for four days and ended on Thursday at Ahmad Sulaiman Al-Rashdan Bowl in Keifan area.
Al-Qadsiya Club garnered 7 points more than other competitors in both categories. The ‘Yellows’ topped the table in general category with 45 points, which was two points more than Kazema Club, causing the latter to fall in second place and Al-Sahel Club in third with 32 points.
In the youth category, Al-Qadsiya became the overall best with 78 points. With a difference of 37 points, Kazema came in distant second while Al-Kuwait Club came in third position with 37 points.
Meanwhile, board member of Kuwaiti Athletics Federation and Vice President of the Arab Athletics Association Seif Al-Dousari thanked the President of Kuwait Football Association and Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah for honoring two athletes Abdulaziz Al-Mendel and Yaqoub Al-Youha after they won gold and silver medals respectively in the 60-meter hurdles race during the Asian Indoor Athletics Championship in Qatar.
He insisted that the honor was not a surprise, adding that he considered his antecedents as consistent and reliable supporters of athletic activities.
