Al-Ghareeb, Al-Shatti, Riyana advance at 7th Kuwait Open

KUWAIT CITY, March 13: The seventh Kuwait Open Tennis Championship (2016), under the patronage of Kuwait and Arab Tennis Federations Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, will conclude on Wednesday.

In a press statement, Kuwait Tennis Federation disclosed that in the Men’s Singles Category, Ali Al-Ghareeb beat his opponent Ali Al-Qallaf with a score of 6-1 in both sets, Abdulhameed Al-Shatti beat Ali Ghabbour 6-1 and 6-0, Abdulrahman Al- Awadhi beat Ali Rasheed Al-Bader 6-2 and 6-1, Abdulaziz Mayouf Redha beat Abdullah Al-Bloushi 6-2 and 6-4, Ali Hassan beat Yousef Abdulsalam with a score of 6-0 in both sets, and Dawood Salman beat Abdullah Al-Mekaimi 6-3 and 10-5.

In the Women’s Singles, Riyana beat Mona Al-Haddad 9-1 while in the Doubles, Hashim Abdal and Ali Ismail beat Ali Al-Ghareeb and Mohammed Al-Shatti 6-0 and 6-2. For the pioneers (above 45 years old), Cantrees beat Mohammed Tonaih 9-6. Moreover, the Under-11 tournament ended with Yacoub Yousef in first place followed by Abdulrazzaq Abdal in second place.

For the Under-13, Mani took the first position and Mohsen Jamal came in second while the first place in the Under-17 Category went to Hussein Jamal followed by Ahmad Mofeed Khamees in second place.
